Wow! Is it just me or is this pregnancy creeping along at a snail's pace? Although, it feels so good to be able to say 8 weeks left...no more double digits. If I ever get pregnant again, which I don't plan to, I hope I find out halfway through my pregnancy. Can you imagine? It would fly by then! Or even be one of those ladies who "didn't know she was pregnant." Yeah...I don't believe that! How can you NOT know?!
I woke up Tuesday morning ready to take down the Christmas decor and get set for Cam. It was 8:30am and after I rolled out of bed, I grabbed some laundry on my way down the stairs and started a load. Kris was in the kitchen cleaning. After I got the laundry started, I began pulling ornaments from the tree and putting them away. Conveniently, the Christmas box had never been put away so I was able to clean up easily and quickly. I think it took maybe 15 minutes to dismantle the tree and decor. And once Kris finished with the kitchen he came and hauled the tree outside and swept up all the needles. Our tree now looks pretty sitting in the backyard.
Last night, I went through Tristan's bin of baby clothes. I was surprised to find that between what we had for T and some things we got for Christmas that we actually had plenty of newborn things. They pretty much live in jammies during the first month anyway, at least in our house. I might have to get an outfit for pictures or something, but that's it. I was also amazed at how much I had for 3 months, although I really need to get Cam some size 3 month jammies...only had 2 pairs of those. But, what really amazed me was that I have NOTHING for 6 months plus. And when I say nothing, I mean, maybe one pair of jammies and a onesie or two...NOTHING! Now that I am thinking about it, I'm pretty sure that during that time with Tristan, it was cold and I had borrowed a bunch of stuff from a friend that I had returned (she now has another little boy using those clothes too). So as you can see, I really need to do some shopping. It's amazing to me that I had so much more stuff for Reagan. I think I have things for her from every age (which I will hold on to for my future daughter, adopted or otherwise).
As the nesting continues, I need to check all of our baby things (swings, bouncers, chairs, sleepers...etc.) and make sure they are still in working order. I loaned out all of my things when we were finished using them, so they've been passed around and used quite a bit. Now that I've made some room I am ready to get my house cleaned and super organized to make room for Camden. 8 weeks seems like forever when you're preggo and over it, but it's not much time when you have soooo much to do.
