Never Give Up

"So let's not get tired of doing what is good.  At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up." - Galatians 6:9

I needed this today.  I need this most days.  Being a mom is tough stuff.  I feel like I spend most of my days cleaning up, correcting attitudes, being the peacemaker, fixing things, teaching, the list goes on.  It wears on me after a few days of non-stop parenting, homeschooling, and homemaking.  Often times, Kris will come home from work and I either want to go to bed or leave!  It's exhausting.  And even though I know God's grace is sufficient for me, sometimes it sure doesn't feel like it.  Sometimes I want a big fat reward, like a weekend away at some tropical location (I've been dreaming of Destin lately), or a visit to the spa, a night out with the girls, or a guilt free trip to Starbucks and Sweet! to get my favorite cupcake.  But God doesn't say anything in His word about getting little treats along the way.  He just says, don't give up!  And continue working.  In HIS time, we will reap a harvest of blessing.  That's a lot of blessing!  And I'm sure it's far better than the blessings I like to treat myself to.

To my readers out there, whatever it is that you're struggling with.  Whatever thing it is that you just want to finish and get through with, I encourage you to hang in there.  Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.  Do it ALL without arguing or complaining (Philippians 2:14).  And at just the right time, God's going to bless you more than you know!
