Triage Trip #3

I woke up this morning at 3:30am with horrible heartburn and contractions.  I actually started feeling really nauseated, so I sat up and tried to move around a little.  I went to the bathroom and started throwing up bile.  I ended up waking Kris, so he came into the bathroom.  I was having contractions that seemed to becoming more intense, so I sent him to get me some water and decided to get into the shower.  The warm water usually helps with the pain of the contractions, but this time it wasn't.  I stood in there for 15 minutes or so before deciding that I wanted to just lay down instead.  Kris got me a towel and I was just holding it around my shoulders and round 2 of throwing up happened.  I never experienced this with the other 2, except when I was in transition with Reagan.  I was feeling pretty miserable and then realized that my doctor was on call, so I had Kris call her to see what she thought.  She told us to come to triage.  So, I called the sitters and packed a few necessities....the bare requirement for what I might need, just in case (had never done that before either).  The contractions had been constant.  I couldn't tell when to start and stop timing because there didn't seem to be any relief.  We made it to the hospital a little after 5am.  As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, I jumped out and started throwing up again.  Right after they admitted me, they checked my cervix and declared me a 1, which was really disappointing.  My contractions remained consistent 2-4 minutes the whole time.  But it didn't seem to be changing my cervix.  They decided to give me some ambien and send me home.  At around 7:30am, my doctor came in and decided to check my cervix again, but when she checked I was 2 1/2cm.  She wasn't sure if I was that to begin with and the nurse just didn't check well or if I had progressed, but she did think that I was in early labor.  She gave me the option to check into a room where they would give me drugs to knock me out to sleep, but we decided to come home instead.   I wouldn't let them give me the full 10mg of ambien like last time, so I only got 5...probably a good idea because by the time I got home (less than 10 minutes later), I was already out of it and needed Kris' help to walk and go to the bathroom.  (When we were leaving the hospital, the nurses and the doctor said "see you tonight."  I hope they're right.)  I threw up again after I got into bed and then completely passed out and slept until 1pm.  I'm still a little out of it, but just ate so I'm probably going to sleep again soon.  The kids just went down for a nap and it's rainy outside...perfect napping conditions.  I'm hoping the contractions continue and ripen my cervix.  If I have energy later, I'm gonna walk the mall again.  I've been snacking on pineapple too.  I guess we'll just see what happens.

And no more Ambien for me....apparently, I called my dad this morning and sounded drunk explaining to him what had happened.  (and this was with half a dose)  I have absolutely no recollection of this because I thought I was asleep.  But I checked my phone and there was a call to him.  Craziness!!

Oh, and I kept forgetting to take a 37 week pic, so here's a 38 week pic:
